POLICE fear a gang responsible for more than 30 robberies may be armed with guns.
Detectives are trying to track down the group of four, dubbed the “t-shirt bandits” due to the shirts covering their faces, and have sought information.
After releasing security footage on Monday, a call was made suggesting the group had stolen firearms during burglaries.
Police are taking the call seriously and are scouring gun theft cases to shed light on their identities.
Detective Sergeant Graeme Simpfendorfer urged the caller to again make contact.
They did not give specific details on the gun thefts.
“That’s why we want the caller to contact us,” Detective Sergeant Simpfendorfer said.
“We’ll assess that information as best we can with what we’ve got.
“But it will be a lot quicker if we can make contact with that person directly.”
Call (02) 6049 2600 or 1800 333 000 with information.
