The girl was a witness to an alleged aggravated burglary at an Emerald Avenue home in Wodonga in the early hours of January 15.
Wodonga’s Kelly-Anne Walsh, 39, allegedly assaulted a woman who had been in bed in order to steal her OxyContin back medication.
In a recorded interviewed played to Wodonga County Court on Thursday, the victim’s daughter told police she woke in the lounge to her twin brother crying.
She sat still in the corner as a woman with a covered face threatened her mum with an axe or hammer.
“I yelled out stop it, stop it, stop it please,” the girl said.
She was torn between running out of the room or staying with her upset brother.
“I thought (Mum) was going to get stabbed or something,” she said.
“I thought she would come at me because they had stuff in their hands to bash people.”
The trial continues.
