The shade structures provide extra protection for the kids when they are not out on the ground.
- David Christy
The club has received portable shade structures to use for its junior players on match days thanks to a $1200 Telstra Kids Fund grant.
President of the East Albury Cricket Club, David Christy, said the new equipment would be used regularly this season.
“The shade structures will be light and easy to erect and provide much needed protection from the sun on match days for players,” Christy said.
“Our new shade structures are a huge hit with the kids.
“The children are encouraged to be sun smart and having the shade structures provides extra protection for the kids when they are not out on the ground.”
Since 2002, the Telstra Kids Fund has contributed millions of dollars to thousands of community projects for kids.
Meanwhile, the third season of the Milo T20 Blast hits off on Friday night at North Street Oval from 5.30pm.
