The community is encouraged to pack their picnic baskets and head to Lions Park for a picnic and animations at 7.30pm.
People can then head across the road to the Audley Street silo show at 8.30pm.
Arts Rutherglen secretary Irena Webster said they were expecting about 400 people.
“We’ll have an image of the Moreton Bay fig tree which is a symbol of the land and an iconic figure,” she said.
“We wanted to try something that hasn't been done in the area and to stretch our creativity.”
A live dance routine has been choreographed to coincide with a dance on film.
The display will also use historic photographs to portray the story of gold, women, wine and the Anzacs.
Residents are encouraged to bring a chair, a blanket and some insect repellent.
The event is supported by Indigo Shire Council and funded by the Federation for Rural and regional Renewal.
