Mr McCurdy said the meeting was scheduled to be held at parliament with the minister and representatives from Alpine Shire, Community Action for the Chalet, Tourism North East and himself to be in attendance.
“This Labor Government needs to do more to demonstrate that they care about regional Victoria,” he said.
“The previous government committed $7.5 million to renew part of the building to allow tourists back into this iconic building.
“I am getting very uneasy with where we are headed with the Mount Buffalo Chalet.”
Mr McCurdy said Ovens Valley residents were entitled to the upgrade that was agreed to.
“If this building was in metropolitan Melbourne, it would already have been renewed,” he said.
Ms Neville apologised for cancelling the meeting after being called to a cabinet meeting at "very short notice".
The meeting has been post-poned to the next sitting week of parliament later this month, according to a spokesperson for the minister.
