About 400 people participated in the inaugural Milawa Oxley Mud Run and pushed their way through mud tracks, cammo nets and a water slide on Saturday.
Will Reilly won the men’s five-kilometre event as the first to grab the tail of the “fox” that ran with a two-minute head start.
None of the female competitors could catch Sharyn Ackerly as the fox out in front.
Organiser Liz Ellis said creative costumes also had people smiling.
“The event is central to the schools’ focus on health and well-being and is set to become a part of their annual calendar,” she said.
