A BUSINESSMAN has fought back against an intruder who broke into his property in search of money.

Tom and Erin’s Nursery owner Tom Powell disturbed a man breaking into the Stanley business about 4am on Sunday.
The man had used bolt cutters to cut a lock to access cash.
Mr Powell chased the man, tackled him to the ground and became involved in a scuffle.

The offender, who is thought to be aged 55 to 65, ran into a white 2015 model Nissan Qashqai.
Mr Powell punched the rear window out as the man fled with cash.
