A woman with stab wounds to her chest was dropped off at the hospital a short time later.
Four women in a blue Toyota Camry helped the woman into the hospital and quickly left the area.
She was flown to the Alfred Hospital in Melbourne with serious injuries.
The Holden Commodore, which had blood inside it, was found by police on Green Street about an hour later.
The keys were inside the car and the vehicle was unlocked.

The man is under police guard on suspicion of attempted murder, but he has not been interviewed or charged.
Sergeant Peter McGuffie said police would investigate possible domestic violence links and whether a relationship break-up had sparked the stabbing.
All involved, including those captured on security cameras dropping the two injured people at the hospital, are believed to be Thai nationals.
“They have been working as grape pickers at one of the vineyards,” he said.
“None of the people in the CCTV footage are under investigation, we want to speak to them as witnesses.”
Police have not found the blue Toyota and are working to determine where the stabbing occurred.
They are investigating whether the man stabbed the woman and himself.
An interpreter was used to confirm they knew each other.
“The man has been formally arrested but he is not in a position to be interviewed,” Sergeant McGuffie said.
