POLICE are trying to track down the owner of a stolen gun seized during a recent raid.

Officers searched a property in the Tallangatta area on November 13.
They recovered several firearms which were traced back to the original owners.
But they are yet to find the owner of a CMC Mountaineer .22-250 rifle.
The weapon had a dark green case with a blue interior, brown leather strap and black scope.

Detective Senior Constable Ian Deverell said police were unsure who owned the gun.
“We’re seeking the owner,” he said.
“We suspect the firearm to be stolen from a premises on the Border.
“We’re hoping someone recognises it.”
Senior Constable Deverell said someone must know who the gun belongs to.
“If anyone knows someone missing a firearm or is the victim of a burglary where a firearm was stolen, they should contact us,” he said.
