Statistics released by VicRoads show 13 crashes at the Hume Highway intersection with McKoy Street and Old Barnawartha Road in the five years to June.
The collisions injured 27 people, nine seriously.
The Hume Highway intersections with the Lincoln Causeway and High Street were the next worst with 11 crashes that injured 14.
Acting Sergeant Owen Clarke said human error was a significant cause of most road collisions.
“The six worst intersection blackspots are not news to us,” he said.
“We’re in the process of preparing several operations to address the intersections.
“Sometimes the amount of traffic through intersections changes the dynamics of the intersection.
“Unfortunately, all collisions will have a significant human contribution to them.
“Inattention and distracted driving are some of the biggest causes.”
The Bandiana Link and Victoria Cross Parade intersection had eight crashes and the Melbourne Road intersection with Melrose Drive had seven crashes.
The Murray Valley Highway and Bonegilla Road intersection had five crashes, and Lawrence and Hume Streets had four crashes.
Acting Sergeant Clarke said police worked with Wodonga Council and VicRoads to improve safety on dangerous roads.
“We look at safer vehicles, safer drivers and safer roads,” he said.
“We can recommend road infrastructure, like railings, roundabouts or traffic lights, that might help.”
Time-based speed restrictions were introduced at the McKoy Street and Hume Highway intersection in March and there have been no crashes since.
VicRoads regional director Bryan Sherritt said it was important drivers were cautious around intersections.
“VicRoads is committed to road safety and a reduction in road fatalities and serious injuries,” he said.
“Due to the complex nature of these intersections and often the high volumes of traffic passing through them, we would like to remind the community to be extra vigilant when approaching or crossing the intersection, and continue their journey safely.
“We will continue to work with our road safety partners, Wodonga Council and Victoria Police, to reduce the number of crashes at these intersections.”
