The Eskdale all-rounder has been one of the competition's big improvers so far this season, claiming 18 wickets in five matches.
Up against ladder leaders Baranduda this weekend, Tobin said putting the pressure back on the in-form Rangers would be key.
“We'll need to snare some early wickets,” he said.
“If we can do that we're a good chance.
“We can't let them run away with it.”
Tobin has become a vital cog in the Eskdale machine this season, which he attributed to a lift in his training intensity.
“I've gotten a little bit more opportunity this year which has probably come with a little bit more experience," he said.
“I've been putting in a little bit more effort at training as well.
“I've learned a bit from guys like Haydon Wilson and Ben Dower, I'm thinking a little bit more about what I'm doing at the top of my run.
“There's more of a thought process in terms of how I'm going to get someone out.”
Captain Rhys Thompson said the rest of the side was equally impressed with Tobin's improved output.
“This is probably the best I've seen him bowl since I've been here,” he said.
“We're throwing him the ball when we're in tougher situations now, he's hitting the spot 99 percent of the time, where he wasn't before.
“It takes some pressure off guys like Haydon and Jamie Baude.
“We need to improve with the bat now, but I think Liam, Ben Paton and a few other found some form last week so we're feeling pretty good.”
In other matches this weekend, Barnawartha/Chiltern will face Mt Beauty, while Wodonga tackle Bethanga.
The Miners will look to stay within striking distance of the top three, chasing their third win of the season after dispatching Wodonga last weekend.
Yackandandah will look to bounce back from last week's loss against Howlong, while Kiewa host Dederang.
