Figures released to The Border Mail show there have been 28 offences recorded on the street since 2011.
The statistics peaked in 2012 when there were 10 offences recorded on the street.
There have been 26 drunk and disorderly offences recorded on Church Street, followed by High Street with 20, 13 recorded offences on Elgin Boulevard and seven offences recorded on the Lincoln Causeway.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, licenced venues have operated on each of the streets.
The news follows the arrest of a Myrtleford man after a confronting drunken assault on a bus on Tuesday.
The 48-year-old old shocked passengers on the Wangaratta to Myrtleford service with his antics, which lead to him being charged with unlawful assault, using indecent language and being drunk in public.
Leading Senior Constable Anthony Short said onlookers had been appalled.
“He was arrested that night for being drunk and was interviewed the following day,” he said.
“The man’s actions on the bus took place in front of a group of people were concerned and appalled by those actions.
“Police responded after several calls for assistance.”
The man has been charged and will appear before Myrtleford Magistrates Court.
“It’s a timely reminder for people getting drunk in public places that there are repercussions for their actions,” Leading Senior Constable Short said.
Leading Senior Constable Helen Parfett is encouraging people to stay safe over the Christmas and the new year.
“You are more vulnerable to violence and accidents when you’ve had too much to drink,” she said.
“Alcohol affects everybody differently so get to know your personal limits and stick to them.
“Save yourself from regrets, and remember that how much you drink is up to you.”
