Bombshell hits Border Pathology

BORDER Pathology staff face an uncertain future with the pre-Christmas shock of a takeover by rival provider Dorevitch.
The company, which was founded by 35 Border-based medical practitioners in 2009, could close as early as Wednesday.
It has a staff of more than 40, but Dorevitch has confirmed 31 employees will transfer from Border Pathology.

A SYDNEY couple have had a lucky escape after flames gutted their car on the side of the Hume Highway on Thursday.
They had been visiting their son in Albury and had been driving back to his home when the woman, aged in her late 70s, fell asleep at Thurgoona.

Ray Barber celebrated his 100th birthday on on Tuesday, December 15.
Until earlier this year, he was still living and working on his farm where he had been for 99 years.
He was born in 1915, more than 10 weeks premature. He was rubbed in olive oil and placed in a shoe box. Read more about Ray.
