Owned by Dr James Mullins, The X-Ray Group opened Wodonga X-Ray in Stanley Street this week, building on its businesses in Albury, Lavington and Wangaratta.
The X-Ray Group general manager Wayne Ashton said the Wodonga site had been on the horizon for about four years.
“We were waiting to get the right building in the right location,” he said.
Wodonga X-Ray opened at 9 Stanley Street on the ground floor offices formerly occupied by Hume Employment Services, which has moved to premises upstairs in the same building.
Mr Ashton said The X-Ray Group used state-of-the-art equipment and the world’s best low-dose imaging.
“The level of technology is extraordinary; because we’ve been a new business we’ve been able to invest in technology,” he said.
“We offer low-dose imaging to patients and high-level MHI quality.
“We have completely refreshed our ultrasound fleet; it’s the latest technology available from Philips and GE.”
The X-Ray Group operates X-Ray @ The Gardens, Lavington X-Ray and Wangaratta X-Ray.
It opened its first site at Albury Base Hospital from 2007-2012 before it branched out to the Wangaratta site during 2008, The Gardens Medical Centre in 2009 and Lavington in 2011.
Mr Ashton said the Wodonga site offered general and dental X-rays, low-dose CT, ultrasound and intervention procedures during specialist visits.
He said most services would be bulk-billed, the same case as for the other sites.
“We will have fast turnarounds and times and it’s easy to get in and out,” he said.
“We have five car parks at the back door and easy access from the car park via Hume Street and from Stanley Street.
“It’s also close to Gateway Health, medical centres and dentists.”
Mr Ashton said the Wodonga site would likely become the second major hub for the business.
He said The Gardens was the main MRI centre for the group; it was also the only site that offered Nuclear Medicine and the Women’s Wellness Centre.
“Our low-dose imaging at the The Gardens is as good as anywhere in the world,” he said.
Mr Ashton said after a period of expansion the group was entering a new phase.
He said by the New Year the company would employ 50 staff across its sites including the new jobs in Wodonga.
“The next five years will be really settled and stable after a period of growth for the business and in staff levels,” he said.
“Our well-skilled staff will continue to be focused on providing our professional service.”
Wodonga X-Ray opens Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.
