Gleeson, who was called into the Panthers’ winning grand final side in 2012-13 when Jay Banks was injured playing football, will take his place against Northcote.
Northcote is captained by former Holbrook and Lavington player Steve Taylor.
Liam Scammell also plays for the club.
Gleeson has made 324 runs at 36 in second grade for Footscray-Edgewater this season and was called into the line-up with Travis Dean being picked for Victoria.
Lavington coach Robbie Mackinlay said Gleeson’s selection was reward for the work he has put in.
“It’s terrific news for a great kid,” Mackinlay said.
“He’s made a few 50s in second grade and got his chance.”
Taylor has been in fine touch, making 114 on day one against Footscray-Edgewater.
