Albury-Wodonga head of campus Julie Cleary said it was a great result for a regional area.
“Students inner-city are 50 per cent more likely to go on to tertiary education,” she said.
“We do have a large proportion of students who were the first in the family so it’s wonderful.”
Ms Cleary said the number of graduates was up 486 from last year.
“In 2015 there were 1300 graduates eligible and of that 950 attended,” she said.
Ms Cleary said many families had travelled to attend ceremonies.
“The study group students in Melbourne come up to us for the ceremony,” she said.
“They’re from India, Bangladesh and many different countries and a lot of families have flown over.
“It makes for very interesting, diversified ceremonies with people from many countries sharing the celebrations.”
