The city's planning and infrastructure director Leon Schultz was responding to Wodonga Ratepayers’ Association president Ian Deegan who believes urgent repairs are needed to fix cracks at the Barnawartha North site.
"My concern is what cost will it be to ratepayers if we don't get if repaired now?" Mr Deegan said.
"They need to get on to the contractor and get them to come back and repair it now, otherwise it will just break-up and get worse."
Several cracks have lined the council-commissioned concrete, which was laid less than two years ago.
A seal has been added to one opening to prevent moisture damage.
However, Mr Schultz said the council had faith the cracks were not serious.
"We don't believe the integrity of the slab has been compromised or any areas of the slab have been compromised at all," Mr Schultz said.
"This slab is 180mm thick, we are confident that those cracks don't run all the way through.
"In cases where some filling has taken pace, that is simply to prevent water in the future getting into the underlying layers.
"There has been no distortion of the slab and a lot of the cracks you do see are really shrinkage cracks and that's the slab continuing to dry out."

Mr Schultz said the concrete, which provides parking for 45 trucks, including B-doubles, was subject to a seven-year warranty which involved no cost for the council if repairs were required.
He said the contractor had examined the site in the past three months and the council planned to have its own engineers scrutinise the success of the seal in the new year.
"We will have the slab evaluated externally from time to time, just to provide an alternate view," Mr Schultz said.
"We are still absolutely confident that the slab is performing as it was was designed and intended to do.
"We're absolutely confident it's not a workmanship issue, we're absolutely convinced it is performing as intended.
"We know that concrete cracks and we're absolutely happy with the way it is performing at the moment and we will continue to monitor the situation and if it deteriorates to a point where a recommendation is made to undertake works, those will be undertaken."
