We played pretty well and it’s good to go into Christmas sitting on top of the ladder.
- Trent Ball
Only days after arriving from England, the all-rounder smashed a quickfire half century batting at No.8.
“He came from 10 degrees in England to 40-odd here and still made runs,” Tallangatta coach Trent Ball said.
“It was a good effort.
“He went out and had a hit down the order.”
With St Patrick’s missing youngsters Cooper Page and Tylar Young, the home team seized on the lack of bowling firepower.
Ball top-scored with 75, while Weighell (61), Matt Armstrong (57 not out) and Greg McGillivray (37) also ensured Tallangatta cruised to victory chasing 252.

“It was a good win,” Ball said.
“We played pretty well and it’s good to go into Christmas sitting on top of the ladder.
“St Pat’s had a couple of bowlers missing and that made life pretty difficult for them.
“I thought Jarryd Hatton bowled really well though.
“He was lightning.
“He surprised us with his pace.”
