Indigo Shire contributed $5000 to the organisation to help with electricity and other costs, but work will be conducted by the organisation’s volunteers.
Cr Emmerick Teissl said it was important for the council to get Blaze Aid to the region as soon as possible.
“You can get rain and grass growing back, but you can’t put the cattle in there unless you have the fencing,” he said.
The quicker we can get people up and running again and back to normal, the better.”
Blaze Aid will set up at the Barnawartha Community Centre from next week.
Indigo Valley residents forced out of homes during bushfires have claimed some personal hardship payments from Department of Health and Human Services.
The Victorian government has offered the immediate disaster relief funding of up to $1300 per household for eligible residents in Wodonga and Indigo LGAs within seven days.
Payments of up to $32,500 were also available for re-establishment costs including repairs or rebuilding.
DHHS, a CFA chaplain, Red Cross and Indigo Shire all gathered at Wooragee Centenary Hall on Tuesday to offer financial and emotional help to anyone in need.
The fear was some farmers might be too proud to ask for assistance themselves.
Indigo Shire was acting as the central management point for all assistance.

North East farmers have been asked for donations of fodder to assist land-holders effected by the fire.
North East Catchment Management Authority has established a drop-off in the Indigo Valley to accept hay donations immediately through until the Autumn break.
Fire-stricken community asked for all shapes and sizes of weed-free grass, lucerne, clover, rye and cereal hay.
