While last year’s number of 193 teams at Swan Hill is unlikely to be bettered, long-time administrator Pat Gilchrist is confident of a big turn-out.
“We had 179 teams at Wodonga in 2013 and it would be great to match or even better that,” Gilchrist said.
“At the moment we have about 100.
“There are a lot of players in the Albury-Wodonga region and hopefully we can gain their support.
“It’s a fantastic week and I urge everyone to give it a try.”
Country Week week pumps millions of dollars into the local economy with players travelling from as far away as Geelong, Bendigo, Ballarat, Merimbula and Coonabarabran.
Matches will be played at Wodonga Tennis Centre, Kelly Park and Albury Grasscourts from February 8 to 13.
