The woman, who asked not to be named to protect her identity, had been speaking to the man for about 20 minutes at the front of her William Street home about 3.30pm on Sunday.
She noticed at the end of the conversation that the man, who was partially obscured by her fence, had been masturbating.
She said it was lucky her two daughters aged one and three had been asleep at the time.
“I’m quite angry about it,” the woman said.
I’m worried about my kids. They could have walked out at any moment and seen it.

“I’m more angry about it than I am scared.
“It’s terrible.
“I’m worried about my kids.
“They could have walked out at any moment and seen it.”
The woman said there were many young families in the street.
She told neighbours about the incident and is warning people to be vigilant.
“The man said he was 38 but he looked much older, and had about two teeth,” the woman said.
“He was about 170 centimetres tall and was wearing black pants and black t-shirt, and was riding a BMX bike.
“I called him a taxi and then called the police.”
The man may have been on drugs as he had asked about rehab services.
“I just don’t want to see this happen again,” the mother said.
She made a statement to police, who are believed to be investigating the incident.
The woman said she hadn’t seen the man before.
She said he had been talkative and wouldn’t leave the front of her home.
She became angry when she saw him masturbating.
“I only noticed towards the end of the 20 minutes,” she said.
“I told him to get lost.
“I told all the neighbours about it; there are a lot of kids in the street.
“I believe the police are looking for him.
“I’m scared he will come back to the house again.”
Anyone with information is urged to call police on (02) 6049 2600 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
