Michael Fruend is moving on from the Border after the death of his mother this year and his father three years ago.
When he first came to Albury to take care of his elderly parents 10 years ago Mr Fruend always found time for hands-on projects.
After making several kit ships, Mr Freund said he decided to do something a bit different.
Influenced by fantasy movies, he built what he described as a mythical Gothic Viking-style war ship.
“There’s over 29 hand-crafted figures on it... it stands nearly 2 metres tall in a doorway and is 130 centimetres long and 60 centimetres wide,” he said.
The ship can float and is made of balsa wood and a bit of oak and has a deep v-shaped hull.
Mr Fruend said he spent about $4000 on the boat with the canopy costing $900.
“I’d really like it to go to a good home,” he said.
“I’m hoping to give it away for free to a club or library.”
