Police have targeted the towns as part of a Christmas and new year blitz as crowd numbers in the region swell with visitors.
A 19-year-old Greensborough man was arrested on Tuesday night after being caught with a large amount of what is believed to be ecstasy.
He has been charged with supplying more than an indictable quantity of a prohibited drug.
A 19-year-old Heathcote Junction man has also been caught with what’s believed to be methamphetamine during the operation.
He has also been charged with drug supply.
Detective Acting Inspector Chris Wallace said police had searched others and would continue to target areas in the Albury region at random.
“We will continue to target drug supply offending in the area,” he said.
“We have a major focus on the fact that we know those areas of the local area command swell during the Christmas and new year period with tourists.
“The operation will run for a number of weeks and move around the area.
“The tests will be conducted at random.”
Detective Acting Inspector Wallace said the operation aimed to prevent people from taking drugs.
He said drug use could have dire consequences.
“Our focus is on the health of our community,” he said.
“We don’t want people, especially ingesting drugs that could possibly be fatal.”
Police had first used the Sydney-based sniffer dog last weekend as part of the operation.
