Neil van der Ploeg won’t be getting too far ahead of himself before the national titles.
“I’m hoping it all comes together like last year, (but) you don’t want to make too many bold statements,” he said.
Van der Ploeg will also enter the criterium.
It shapes as a big summer for the Albury star, who’s also set to race the Tour Down Under, the Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race and the Herald Sun Tour.
Van der Ploeg has previously raced the Tour Down Under with Team UniSA.
But he still holds World Tour ambitions.
“That’s definitely the goal,” Van der Ploeg said. “If it happens that would be fantastic.
“I’m just trying to get a few results to keep knocking on the door. It’s hard being in Australia because you’re not racing those World Tour teams all the time.
“If I can land some strong results this summer it would be very helpful.”
