For Wodonga Senior Secondary College student Taylah Dyson, a hard, long year of study looms on the horizon with the countdown to 2016.

To go into final year study with a positive mindset, Ms Dyson’s New Year’s resolution is simple – “survive”.

“Basically just to be the best I can be in life and say yes to new adventures,” she said.
Thousands of Border residents anticipated new beginnings as they looked to a brilliant sky of fireworks at Albury Harness Racing Club, Birallee Park and other events across the region.
Ben Shattock of Wodonga’s approach was to enjoy every moment as it came.
“I’ve been trying for the last 10 years and it has never worked, so I’ve given up and just rolled with it,” he said.
