A final figure of $402,500 was raised at the 24-hour event on October 24 and 25.
The two cities came up with 158 teams and 2750 participants at Alexandra Park – the second largest event in the country.
Funds will sponsor Albury's Transport to Treatment program to be launched in the next few months.
Border Relay for Life chair Carl Friedlieb said he wanted to thank everyone who was involved.
“The event was overflowing with community spirit,” he said.
“Unfortunately cancer affects all of us in some way with one in two men and one in three women in Australia diagnosed with some form of cancer by the age of 85.”
Border residents also raised $440,000 at the 2014 event towards cancer research, information, prevention and support services.
This year's event will be held at Birallee Park Wodonga on October 22 and 23.
