Mullins, 17, dashed home from Colorado in the US to squeeze in a week of study at The Scots School Albury.
On Tuesday, the Albury snowboarder leaves for Norway to represent Australia at the Winter Youth Olympic Games in Lillehammer.
“I feel like I’ve only just got back and I’m off again,” she said.
“It’s been really good to have this week at home so I can really focus on competing when I’m over there rather than trying to do school as well.
“I’ve been trying to get ahead and catch up at the same time.
“It’s a lot of flying but I’m sure it will pay off in the long run. I’m not sure what I want to do after school but I want to continue studying and integrate that with my snowboarding.”
Mullins will touch down in Lillehammer on Wednesday and will compete in her first event, the halfpipe, four days later in Oslo.
She will then turn her focus to her pet event, slopestyle, on the penultimate day of competition, February 20.
Having recently claimed her first World Cup top ten finish, Mullins’ confidence is high ahead of Lillehammer, host of the 1994 Winter Olympic Games.
Mullins said she would have no trouble adapting from an Australian summer to a Norwegian winter.
“It’s funny how quickly you can get used to environments so as soon as I get back there I’ll be straight back into it,” she said.
“I’m going over without too many expectations.
“I just want to experience the whole thing.
“I have an idea of what I will want to do in terms of my run but it all depends on the course and the weather and I know I’ll need to adapt.”
