The left-handed opening batsman scored two half centuries in the Blues opening wins over Victoria and South Australia.
Despite Farrell being dismissed for one against the Northern Territory the Blues went on to win their third straight match of the championships on Monday.
“I’ve been going all right, I am hitting them better than I normally do,” Farrell said yesterday.
“We haven’t dropped a match yet which is good.”
The Northern Territory compiled 7/189 from their 50 overs but the talent-laden NSW outfit had no trouble — mowing down the total in the 35th over.
The Blues play Queensland today and have an opportunity to skip further ahead of South Australia in the round-robin format.
Former North Albury teammates Liam Scammell, representing the ACT, and Joe Loorham, the skipper of Victoria, have had mixed starts to the championships.
The Bushies have won just one game, a seven wicket win over the Northern Territory in the second round, while the ACT won their first game, against Tasmania, on Monday.
Loorham has been solid behind stumps, but is yet to fire a shot with the bat, while Scammell found form with 21no in ACT’s win over the Devils.
In another heartening sign for Scammell, he has made his return to bowling after a leg injury, snaring two wickets against the Devils.
