From the TAC Cup testing day, Sandringham Dragons are the best running team in the competition
- Leon Higgins
Higgins said the Dragons had pace to burn and would back themselves to inflict the ladder leader’s first loss of the season.
The Bushrangers will have their depth tested with Fletcher Carroll, Max Lynch, Charlie Spargo, Zach Sproule, Alex Paech, Todd Marshall and Ryan Garthwaite unavailable due to NSW commitments.
Spargo and Paech played well for the national under-17 team in New Zealand earlier this week.
Wangaratta’s Dan Sharrock will debut for the Bushrangers on his home ground.
“From the TAC Cup testing day, Sandringham Dragons are the best running team in the competition,” Higgins said.
“We expect that’s the way they will play.
“They will want to run and carry the ball.
“They will have quite a different side as well due to school footy so it will be interesting to see how it goes.”
Sunday’s match starts at 1pm.
