The Albury Thunder will be hosting NSW and St George Illawarra star Matt Cooper on the 23rd as part of the Road to Origin tour.
Albury is the first stop on the two week regional tour, in which Cooper and former Queensland star Brent Tate visit 12 locations in NSW and Queensland.
In a boon for the Thunder, McRae Holden will present the club with a $1000 grant to put towards new equipment, uniforms or other upgrades.
The free event kicks off from four o’clock on Monday, with Cooper excited to meet the fans.
“Rugby league is the life-blood of many sporting-mad communities, particularly in regional areas,” he said.
“I can't wait to visit, meet the fans and check out their up and coming footy talent.”
Cooper will put Albury's young guns through their paces in a skills and drills clinic at Greenfield Park at 4pm on Monday afternoon.
