One amateur golfer will secure a spot for the state event through the competition at Howlong Country Golf Club and Thurgoona Country Club Resort on June 18 and 19.
Albury mayor Henk van de Ven, himself a keen golfer, said the council was proud to be hosting the tournament.
“This is a great opportunity to showcase two of our many great golf courses and show people why golf is one of the most popular activities for tourists who visit the Murray region,” he said.
The 2016 NSW Open Golf Championship will be played at Stonecutters Ridge Golf Club from November 10 to 13. The regional qualifying tournament is open to all amateur golfers with a current Golf Australia handicap or equivalent.
