Jackson, who retired from international basketball in March, is set to become the commercial operations executive as part of a rejigged Boomers board.
The Boomers, formerly known as Bulleen, were in limbo earlier this year after the Bulleen Templestowe Basketball club handed the licence for the Boomers back to Basketball Australia.
There were concerns the Boomers would fold without the support of the club, however Jackson's announcement on Wednesday morning comes as part of a private ownership bid led by Etihad Stadium chairman Tony Hallam.
Hallam's proposal, which included funding from Basketball Australia and Basketball Victoria, has been given approval from the two organisations.
