Born in Shepparton, Mrs Kennedy, the eldest of seven children, married James Kennedy in Albury.
She had a magnificent operatic contralto voice and was trained by Madam Savickis at her Academy of Music. But instead of pursuing a singing career in Melbourne or Sydney, she decided her family would come first.
Many people knew her from Normans Pharmacy in Mate Street, North Albury.
She is survived by children Andrew, John, and Helen, who said her mum was the wisest person she knew.
“She was smart as paint, very caring, sharp as a tack and had a beautiful soul,” she said.
