Apprentice jockey Mitchell Aitken landed the biggest victory of his burgeoning career in the $100,000, 1600m feature.
It was Minnie Downs’ first victory since winning the same race twelve months ago.
“It's probably my biggest thrill in racing so far,” apprentice hoop Aitken said.
"Her last win was this race 12 months ago so it's good for Brian, it's good for her as well – it's just a big thrill for all of us.
"(The pace) set the race up for us basically, she travelled right through the run.
"All the gaps opened for her and she basically did no work the whole race but to her credit, she did a good job.
"At the 100m, I knew she was going to get there – she's honest and tough."
The $21 outsider beat Self Sense and $26 chance Curragh King past the post.
