Fraser, who will represent Australia with Scott Hend at Rio next month, said he couldn’t wait to chase a medal.
“It will take a long time for it to sink in being an Olympian,” Fraser said.
“It just doesn’t sound right.
“I’m under no illusion that I only got in due to other guys pulling out, but I can’t wait to pull on the green and gold and give it everything I have to try and win a medal.”
Fraser missed the cut at this week’s British Open by a stroke and holds no fears about the Zika virus.
“I feel like I’m pretty prepared with everything,” he said.
“It’s hard to know what to make of it all.
“I suppose it depends on who you listen to.”
Sixty-players will take part in the 72-hole stroke play format which starts on day six of the games.
Minjee Lee and Su Oh have been named in the women’s side with Karrie Webb missing selection.
