Scott Ian Chivers fronted Wodonga Magistrates’ Court this week after his fourth drink-driving offence.
He appeared in court supported by a woman, with both wearing matching Fox hoodies.
Chivers had been nabbed in the driveway of his home, revving his car while in the driver seat on January 7.
He had been uncooperative when police arrived and undertook a breath test, but refused to accompany police back to the station after returning a low reading.
The court heard Chivers thought going back to the police station would be “a waste of everyone's time” given the low reading.
The court heard he had only turned the car on to use the radio and had not been drinking all day, but had “just cracked a can”.
It was his fourth drink-driving offence and he has driven disqualified eight or nine times.
Magistrate Ian Watkins placed Chivers on a 12-month community corrections order.
“Now it would be in your interest not to come back on a breach of a community corrections order,” he warned.
