Albury City Council is giving people the chance to win a $1000 shopping spree in the city by voting for their favourite lamb dish at one of the 20 participating restaurants.
Among the 23 dishes, Border Wine Room is offering Lamb Two Ways – confit shank, smoked backstrap with aubergine glass and ratatouille, Charlie’s Cafe on Kiewa has a pulled lamb pie and The Riverdeck Cafe has Tallangatta Valley lamb loin and cutlet with nettle, potato, radish, parsley and olive powder.
Canvas Eatery head chef Keith Buchhorn, who will cook roast lamb rump with blackened onion mayonnaise, confit harissa carrots, honeycomb and jus, said there was a sweetness about Riverina lamb.
LambEx winds up on Friday but diners can vote for their favourite lamb dish until August 14 at www.votealbury.com.au.
The winner will be drawn on August 15.
