A huge pavilion built to house the expanding Country Lifestyle program at the Henty Machinery Field Days will create a year-round venue for southern NSW.

The 120m x 18m Taylor Wood Pavilion will allow more than 100 exhibitors from both the Country Lifestyle and Extra Tent marquees to be housed under the one roof.
Country Lifestyle co-ordinator Lyn Jacobsen said exhibitors and visitors would appreciated the firm, all-weather flooring, wide pedestrian aisles and weather-proof comfort.
This year 105 exhibitors with more than 481m of shop front have taken sites in the Country Lifestyle pavilion.
Mrs Jacobsen said the idea of having a large, new shed was an exciting step for Country Lifestyle.
“The wider walkways will make it a lot roomier and less congested when walking around,’’ she said.
“The skylights along the northern side will let in plenty of natural light plus power points will be easier to access – years ago not many stalls required electricity unlike today.’’
Mrs Jacobsen said the sealed floor was a welcome addition, reducing dust from the heavy foot traffic.
It will be officially opened during the 2016 field days on Tuesday, September 20, at 2pm, and was named in honour of field days foundation member Milton Taylor, of Henty, and Table Top’s Colin Wood, who served as chairman for three decades.
With construction completed by Macjac Sheds, the pavilion features a sealed floor and a 387, 000 litre rainwater tank for supplying water across the field day site.
The tank will also provide water for fire fighting services.
HMFD CEO Belinda Anderson said the new pavilion was an exciting step for the field days co-operative.
“This is the beginning of a long term vision to provide sustainability for the co-operative through utilisation of the considerable infrastructure on the site outside of the field days,’’ Mrs Anderson said.
She said the economic flow-on would benefit the Greater Hume Shire, southern NSW and North-East Victoria.
“The Greater Hume Shire has been instrumental in supporting this development.’’
