Perennial finalists Boomers, coming off a league title and having also claimed the Cup in 2015, have appeared in 15 of the last 16 finals.
While that lends them slight favouritism, their results against Albury City would suggest otherwise – a 2-0 loss in round nine followed by a 4-2 loss in round 17.
Coach Steve Hayes said his side would need to lift once again on Sunday.
“Both sides look like they’ll be at full strength this week, I think it’ll be the first time we’ll have played each other with two full sides on the park,” he said.
“I’m thinking it’ll be a pretty tough game, and you always need a bit of luck in grand finals.
“Albury City are a very well-balanced side, with strong players across all lines.
“Winning the league this year was a bit of a bonus that we didn’t expect, anything more now is going to be a real bonus.”
