The side’s loss to Yackandandah last week dropped it three wins behind league leaders Kiewa and a win behind the Roos and its next opponent Baranduda.
A loss could see the fourth-placed Eskdale slip to as low as sixth.
Eskdale captain Rhys Thompson said his side hasn’t been the biggest fan of the one-day format and are excited to get back into the longer form on Saturday.
“You can’t get set because 40 overs is not quite enough in my opinion,” Thompson said.
With our best side, I think we're definitely right up there.

“We’ll prefer it more and more guys are keen to get back and play.”
The Eskdale outfit will be very different to last weekend with Joel and Lewis Parsons, Benjamin Patton and Gerard Kissane all welcome returns.
“With our best side, I think we're definitely right up there,” Thompson added.
The rest of the round sees Howlong host the in-form Yackandandah, Wodonga is out to return to the winners list against Barnawartha-Chiltern, Kiewa will be looking for an incredible nine consecutive wins when it meets Mount Beauty, while Bethanga will attempt to spoil Dederang’s charge up the ladder on its home turf.
