From Monday the booking area will be open on weekdays from 9am-11am and 12.30pm-2.45pm.
Following staff cuts NSW Trainlink had reduced trading hours to 10am-11am and 2pm-3pm.
It drew a backlash from passengers, the Border Rail Action Group and member for Albury Greg Aplin.
The Liberal MP on Thursday repeated an earlier statement that he had been assured by Trainlink management there “would be a presence at the station to service customers”.
“I would have preferred a longer period but this is an improvement on an unacceptable situation we’ve seen in recent days,” Mr Aplin said of the opening switch.
“We’ve been working, we’ve been pushing so it’s an improvement and we’ll see how it works.
“I’ll be keen to hear from people if they’re not open during those hours.”
