NSW Police crack down on drivers
Border drivers have been reminded that double demerit points will be in place from Wednesday until Sunday over the Australia Day period in NSW.

It will apply to offences including speeding, using a mobile phone while driving, not wearing a seatbelt and riding without a helmet.
Last year’s road toll in NSW totalled 384 deaths, which was 34 more than 2015.
There have been 17 fatalities on NSW roads already in January.
Victoria has not had a double demerit points scheme implemented.
