Officers stopped the 42-year-old Victorian man’s car on Poictiers Street, outside the courthouse, at 11.30pm.
A search found a concealed baton, cannabis and ice in the vehicle.
The man was arrested and charged.
He was bailed to appear inside the courthouse in March.
