The event will be held at the SS&A Club on the night before the Saints take on last season’s AFL runner-up Sydney in a pre-season match at Lavington Oval on March 12.
All proceeds raised on the evening will go to Maddie Riewoldt’s Vision, which raises funds to #fightlikemaddie and find new treatments for bone marrow failure..
It aims to find a cure for the syndromes affecting younger Australians each year.
Maddie Riewoldt, who died in 2015, lived with aplastic anaemia for only five years.
SS&A Club chief executive Gerard Darmody said the club was proud to be able to host the fundraiser.
“We encourage all those in our community who love their AFL to join us and bid on the auction items to help us reach our goal of over $20,000 donated to Maddie Riewoldt’s Vision,” Mr Darmody said.
The fundraiser will feature interviews with the former Saints skipper, team-mate Hugh Goddard and ex Saints’ player Justin Koschitzke.
Koschitzke has been part of previous events raising awareness for Maddie Riewoldt’s Vision during his recent playing stint with Lavington Panthers.
Tickets cost $120 each or $1200 for a table of 10 and include a three-course dinner and beverages.
Riewoldt’s appearance at the fundraiser is a strong pointer to him playing in the Saints-Swans AFL pre-season match which will be the final hit out for both teams ahead of their home-and-away season campaigns.
Riewoldt is one of the Saints greatest players with six club best and fairests and five All-Australian selections.
He and Koschitzke were taken by the Saints in the 2000 national draft as the first and second picks.
Riewoldt stood down as captain last season.
Meanwhile, Albury Council has awarded beverage service rights to reigning Ovens and Murray premier Albury Tigers and canteen services to Lavington Panthers and Murray Magpies for the pre-season match between the Saints and Swans.
