Regular Albury visitor Lynne Tremayne joked she would just have a drink before boarding the afternoon flight to Sydney.
“Over the years we’ve done a lot of flying and had a plane on fire and door flying open in Egypt, but if your time’s up your time’s up,” she said.
Sydney’s Barbara Jansen said it was “certainly unusual, but they’ve checked the aircraft so thoroughly it’s probably more reliable”.
Walwa beef cattle breeder Mike Gadd said that “It’s similar to when there’s been a terror report or a terror thing, it’s best to go after an event because everything is checked out”.
