Youth Week: The Hive Youth Resource Centre launches this Friday
A swarm of enthusiastic young people have been very busy bees preparing for the launch of Lavington’s new-look youth centre. The Hive, located in the former Lavington library building in Griffith Road, will host its grand opening on Friday, April 7 from 4pm to 8pm. More here

An impromptu ceremony unveiling the "Jake Elkington Clubrooms" was held for Bulldogs' supporters last Thursday night in the lead-up to the club's first match of the Ovens and Murray league season. But some supporters were shocked to discover the sign had been removed on game-day. More here

Flying Fruit Fly Circus graduate Tom Flanagan had the HotHouse audience in stitches last night with his clever silent-era slapstick show. With modern nods to Rowan Atkinson and Aardman Animations and accompanied by ever in-the-moment pianist John Thorn, Kaput is must see fun for any age. More here
Albury CWA branch celebrates its 90th anniversary
On April 5, 1927, a meeting at the Albury show society rooms saw 16 inaugural members start a group that continues to serve its community. An afternoon tea on Tuesday marked the branch’s 90th anniversary, held in the Kiewa Street hall that has been its centre for more than 80 of those years. More here

As two veterans sat discussing the war that brought them together on the battlefield, it seemed as if they had known each other forever.
This week, Bega’s Frank Hunt was emotionally reunited with Bill Wilcox, one of the two men who saved his life after being severely wounded by an M16 anti-personnel landmine in the dense jungle of the Long Hai mountains in Vietnam almost 48 years ago. Read all about it.
