Daly will play his 100th senior Ovens and Murray game, 15 years after his debut.
“It means a lot, it certainly does,” he said.
“It’s obviously something you look back on and be proud of, it’s the first time I’ve played 100 senior games with a club.”
The 32-year-old started his career in round 1, 2002, for Corowa-Rutherglen.
“I remember a lot of the big bodies that Myrtleford had,” he said.
“They were a really good side, really physical side and very hard to beat at Myrtleford, so I remember copping a few hits off some of their guys, and having a wake-up call for senior footy.”
Daly spent two seasons with the Roos while linked with the Murray Bushrangers, and then two-and-a-half years with South Adelaide.
He spent the same amount of time at Keysborough, before returning for the start of Albury’s golden era in 2009.
He spent four years with the Tigers, and then three years with Mayne in Queensland.
Daly returned as Tigers’ co-coach last year.
He’s won six premierships in his career.
The midfielder has been one of the most consistent players in his time in the O and M, rarely playing even an average game.
He claimed the Tigers’ best and fairest last year.
Wodonga is coming off a super performance in downing Wangaratta Rovers, but this is the league’s ultimate test.
“You try and stop them from scoring in chunks, as in they can put on five or six goals really quick,” he said.
“You plan for them to be flexible with their midfielders, you plan for them to play quick and play on and keep the ball moving all the time.”
Harding says the Tigers are now more unpredictable, given the departure of giant siblings, Setanta and Aisake O’hAilpin.
“It’s probably a little more difficult to plan for them without their big boys because they’ll throw different stuff at you all the time,” he said.
Luke Daly and Elliott Powell played forward against Wodonga Raiders, with Doug Strang Medallist Josh Mellington suspended for the first six games.
Former Yackandandah ruckman Oliver McEwan will make his senior debut for the Tigers, around a decade after he last played there with the thirds.
