Wangaratta Council has organised the gathering, which will be attended by police and support agencies.
Counselling services will be provided by Red Cross volunteers and Gateway Health professionals.
The informal event was planned as a way to bring people together to talk and support one another.
A condolence book will also be available for signing.
The violent events in Belle Avenue left the city in shock.
The council gathering will be held at the Salvation Army building at 13-17 Garnet Avenue, from 5.30pm to 7pm and tea, coffee and light refreshments will be provided.
