Among about 75 exhibitors taking part in the three-day CraftAlive Wodonga show, Quilts of Hope attracted plenty of interest at Wodonga Sports and Leisure Centre.
The scheme asks people to donate their time and supplies to make a quilt or block to support not-for-profit organisation Challenge.
Liz Ludington, who oversaw the Quilts of Hope stall, said the general theme of child’s play offered great scope for designs.
“A lot of people even get pictures out of a colouring book, convert it into an applique design and do it that way,” she said.
“There’s no real time limit because unfortunately there’s always children who are needing quilts.”
Albury designer Marg Low, whose patterns sell in the US and France, was exhibiting at her third CraftAlive show.
“I just like making things,” she said. “Even as a child I loved playing with fabrics and working with ribbon.”
The fair displays included paperwork, scrapbooking, wood turning, finished products, supplies and machines.
