A woman was hospitalised after her early model Holden Commodore flipped while turning left from Hallett Crescent into Gemmell Street in Wangaratta.
The incident occurred about 2.45pm on Thursday, with the impact smashing the fence and writing off the vehicle, leaving the driver stuck inside.
Leading Senior Constable Colin Boyle said the driver was taken to hospital in a stable condition.
“It's the age old message of driving to the conditions,” he said.
Crime scene officers attended and removed several pieces of evidence from the vehicle.
